Above the Palms is a rooftop cactus garden perched above the coastline in Palm Beach, QLD, a compact but high-impact installation designed to elevate both the view and the architecture it belongs to.
A foundation of crushed sandstone and mini sandstone boulders grounds the planting in a warm, coastal palette. Sculptural columnar cacti anchor the space, while smaller clumping and ground-hugging cacti and agaves create texture and interest across the surface.
Access to the site was up two tight flights of stairs and the budget would not allow for crane access. Meaning every plant, rock, and bucket of gravel was painstakingly carried in by hand. But this is why the Cactus Culture team never skips leg day. Your problem is our challenge.
