Corso Firepit is a small project we completed for a riverfront property in Yeronga. Cactus Culture was brought in by another landscaping team who was managing the larger project, to design and deliver a desert-inspired fire pit garden.
Our scope focused on one key section: the fire pit zone. We were responsible for the design, material specification, and softscape execution, working closely with the lead landscaper who handled the hardscaping, block work and adjacent gardens.
We built the design around a central fire pit, using volcanic stone, sandy gravels, and low-profile boulders to create a dry, textural space that feels relaxed but intentional. The planting features a bold mix of columnar cacti, Euphorbias, and succulents, chosen for their structure, durability, and sculptural quality.
Set against dark cladding and framed by clean blockwork, the result is a dry, textural retreat that transformed what was once a dead space at the rear of the block in to a go-to spot to sit by the fire and watch the river drift by.
