Refunds & Returns Policy

At Cactus Culture Australia, we deal in cacti: living, perishable and highly variable plants. It is also important to remember that we are a small business doing our best to supply cacti and cacti products at reasonable costs. We cannot offer the same no-questions-asked refund policies that multi-national ecommerce giants can.

As such, our policy differs a little from your standard products, and is designed to ensure mutual fairness whilst preventing misuse.

No Change of Mind Refunds

Once your order has been dispatched we do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. This includes situations where:

  • You no longer want the items.

  • You are dissatisfied with its appearance, despite it being accurately described.

  • You ordered the incorrect item.

Please make your selections carefully before purchasing. If you change your mind shortly after placing your order and contact us ASAP we may be able to cancel and refund your order prior to it being dispatched. As soon as the order has been dispatched, we have incurred a non-refundable postage cost that would be unreasonable for us to absorb. 

Safe Delivery Guarantee (Plants)

We guarantee that your cacti will arrive safely. If your order arrives damaged, we will replace it at no additional cost. To qualify:

  1. Contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order.

  2. Provide clear photographs of the damaged item.

  3. Return the damaged cactus to us. We cover the return shipping costs.

We require the return of damaged plants to prevent policy abuse, such as intentional damage for propagation purposes.

Perishable Nature of Cacti

Cacti are living plants and may exhibit natural variations in color, size, and shape. Minor imperfections, such as slight scarring or surface blemishes, are normal and not considered defects. Environmental stress during transit, like minor colour change, does not qualify for a refund or replacement. If in doubt, contact us and we would be happy to help – we can assure you that we are fair and reasonable. 

Seeds and Germination

Germination success depends on various factors beyond our control, including climate and care. Therefore, we do not offer refunds or replacements for seeds that fail to germinate. We do, however, offer free advice and guidance when time permits. If you’re struggling to germinate seeds send us an email at hello@cactusculture.com.au and explain your setup/process and we’d be happy to assist.

Electrical Items (e.g. Heat Mats)

We sell a small range of accessories to support cactus growing, including heat mats and thermostats.

If an electrical item (e.g. heat mat) is faulty or not working as intended, we’ll provide a refund or replacement in line with Australian Consumer Law. Contact us as soon as you discover the issue, and we’ll sort it out quickly.
