WHO WE ARE
A bunch of cactus nerds, really.
We’re Tim and Billy. Friends first, cactus people second, business owners somewhere after that.
This started like a lot of good things do: by accident. We were just two mates who got way too deep into collecting cacti. Buying rare stuff, killing half of it, trying again, trading cuttings, getting really into rocks, and talking way too much about "free draining soil". What you see here, whether it’s the shop, the garden services, or the info we share, is the result of that passion (which our wives might call obsession).
These days, we have a small team to help manage the landscaping delivery but we still do almost everything ourselves. We mix the soils, write the articles, design the gardens, and pack the orders. Still two cactus nerds, still figuring things out, still showing up each day excited to learn more about these plants we love and share them with anyone who wants to be part of the culture.
What We Do

What drives us
We both came into this from outside the horticulture world. No degrees, no formal training. Just curiosity and repetition, plus years of trial, error, and research.
That’s probably why we’ve always made an effort to be generous with our time and advice. We remember what it was like starting out: not knowing who to trust, wasting money on crap products, googling conflicting advice. That’s why we put time into answering questions, writing proper guides, and helping people get their head around this stuff. We actually want people to succeed, because we know how hard it is when you’re just figuring it out.
"Absolutely awesome business. Great product, genuine care, and a top team doing their part to foster a real sense of community among Aussie cactus enthusiasts." - Matthew ★★★★★
The Culture
When we talk about cactus culture, what do we really mean?
Cacti are defined by their slow-growth and profound longevity. With proper care, cacti can be a companion for decades, even passing down through generations: a continuous, living heirloom that moves with you through life. Few living things offer that kind of permanence.
At first, their resilience and striking, unique forms draw us in. But over time, the relationship deepens. We see past the spines and strange shapes to the science, design, and ecology at their core. This connection quietly shifts our perspective: you begin to think differently about time, patience, and the commitment required to steward a life across a lifetime.
That is the culture: it's a quiet appreciation for living systems, a commitment to long-term thinking, and an attention to detail that life in the fast lane often forgets. It's our pleasure to share that with you.
