The Echinopsis cuzcoensis syn. Trichocereus cuzcoensis and commonly referred to as simply “Cuzco” is a moderate-fast growing Peruvian columnar cactus notable for its knobbly-looking ribs and golden-brown spines that have a large variance in length (5-20m).

The Cuzco is tolerable of a wide range of conditions and thrives in the full sun whilst also being frost-hardy. It seems to be well adapted to the Australian climate, with mature plants observed fruiting readily from November-January at a significantly higher rate than other Echinopsis/Trichocereus species.

Planted in the ground and given favourable conditions the Cuzco can reach heights of 5m. Grown in pots this cactus will reach heights of 2-3m.

All cuttings are taken from mother plants in Brisbane that are over 25 years old. Some cacti may arrive with natural blemishes from years of growth in the elements.
