Rootex-P Rooting Hormone Powder (250 & 500 gram tubs)
The application of Rootex-P can notably speed up root formation in cactus cuttings. A shorter rooting timeframe lessens the stress that cuttings often endure during the rooting phase, reducing the chances of pests, disease and infection.

The active constituent in Rootex-P is 3g/kg Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA). Studies have concluded that IBA produces a larger number of roots in a shorter period of time than Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA).
Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) is an auxin that naturally occurs within plants in small quantities, and works by being converted into IAA by the plant. It is essentially a precursor to IAA. By using IBA rooting hormones you are providing your plant with an abundance of building blocks that it can use to produce a large volume of IAA naturally.
How to use Rootex-P with cacti:
Dip the freshly cut end of your cactus into the powder, ensuring complete and even coverage. The wetness of the fresh cutting will help with powder adhesion;
Leave the cutting to dry in a bright and well-ventilated area out of direct sun or rain.
Do not wet/mist the soil as the packet instructs or your cactus cutting may rot. Powder is preferable to gel rooting hormones in cactus propagation for this same reason.
